HD 105234 = EF Cha is a binary star in the Washington Double Star catalog (WDS J12071-7844 = BRC 10) which was resolved by Gaia DR2 and DR3 (the component is not yet in SIMBAD as of 14 Sept 2026). Briceno & Tokovinin (2017) first reported the pair, and their 2nd epoch in 2017 confirmed the system as physical. Kervella+2022 (2022A&A...657A...7K) showed that the astrometry is consistent with it being a gravitationally bound pair, i.e. the stars are statistically codistant and their tangentially velocities differ by only 3.50+-0.16 km/s, whereas the predicted escape velocity at the separation (144 au) of B from A is 5.25 km/s. Both stars are part of the nearby epsilon Cha association (Mamajek+2000, Murphy+2013, Briceno & Tokovinin 2017), part of the greater Sco-Cen complex (Kerr+2023, Ratzenboeck+2023).
