This nearby star (GJ 3923 = LHS 3124 = G 168-14 = StKM 2-1199) currently has a SIMBAD default spectral classification of M7 from
1986AJ.....92..139S
, which appears to be obsolete and/or erroneous. Multiple more recent classifications are consistently with it being much hotter/earlier (nearly all post-Kirkpatrick91 M dwarf system classifications in the Skiff MK compendium are at M3.5 subtype, e.g.

). The stars colors and magnitudes are also consistent with the earlier type (e.g. M_J=7.63, compared with M_J=10.7 for typical M7Vs)
