Roy_Axelsen on 25-Feb-2024 05:17:50 GMT about CD-56 7181
CD-56 7181 is identified as an eclipsing binary based on TESS data. This is not correct. The eclipsing binary V870 Ara is about 36 arc sec to the south east of CD-56 7181. The TESS light curve for CD-56 7181 has a period of ~ 0.399d, precisely the period of V870 Ara, but with a smaller amplitude (~ 0.125), presumably due to blending of the image with that of the variable. Aperture photometry performed by me on a time series of 600 images over 5.8 hours on 19-20 July 2023 (not published) shows no variability of CD-56 7181.
