plx = 5.3333 +- 0.0551 mas (Gaia DR2)
This is a considerable improvement over the revised Hipparcos parallax (132.83 +- 38.32 mas), which erroneously made the star appear very nearby (7.5 pc).
WDS J12540-1802A and B do appear to be a co-distant (d = 188 pc) co-moving pair in Gaia DR2 (sep = 23.35", PA = 294.71 deg):
