GJ 338 A is considered a spectral standard star of type "M0V" by

and "M0.0V" by

Kirkpatrick+1991 notes that the companion GJ 338 B actually has a slightly earlier spectral type (K7V) than GJ 338 A (M0V). Henry+2002 corroborates this, with the primary GJ 338 A (M0.0V) listed at (J2000) 09:14:22.8 +52:41:12, and the secondary GJ 338 B (K7.0V) listed at (J2000) 09:14:24.7 +52:41:11. So the type currently listed (K7V) appears to be a typo, but correct for the secondary.
This is somewhat confusing as other works have determined spectroscopic Teffs where A is indeed marginally hotter than B (e.g.

), as expected for its slightly brighter magnitude.
The original catalog that sets A and B (Gliese+1991) confirms that "A" is the on at lower RA, brighter V mag, and bluer B-V, U-B, and R-I colors.
