Iota Car (HR 3699) is commonly known by the proper name "Aspidiske" in numerous astronomical references:
(1) Admiral Wiliam Henry Smyth (1881) "A Cycle of Celestial Objects" (revised, condensed, and greatly enlarged by George F. Chambers, F.R.A.S of the Inner Temple, Barrister-at-law, 2nd edition, Oxford, Clarendon Press).

(5) George R. Davis, Jr. (1944) "The pronunciations, derivations, and meanings of a selected list of star names" Popular Astronomy, vol. 52, p.8

(12) Ian Ridpath & Wil Tirion (2008) "Stars and Planets: The Most Complete Guide to the Stars, Planets, Galaxies, and the Solar System Fully Revised and Expanded edition" (Princeton University Press, Princeton)
Two aliases appear in older literature -- "Scutulum" (Smyth 1881, Allen 1899, Allen 1963, BSC, Cox 2000) and "Tureis" (Becvar 1964, Smyth 1881, BSC) or spelling variants. However "Scutulum" can be easily confused with the constellation "Scutum", and the name "Tureis" has been commonly used for the star rho Pup over the past couple centuries (and in SIMBAD), hence "Aspidiske" should be preferred over these aliases.
