Iota Aur (HR 1577) is known by the proper name "Hassaleh" in the Bright Star Catalog and other astronomical references:
(1) Antonin Becvar (1964) "Atlas of the Heavens - II: Catalogue 1950.0", Praha: Publication House of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Cambridge, Mass.: Sky Publishing Corporation, 1964, 4th enl. edition, edited by Mohr, Josef M. (scient. ed.) ["Hassaleh"]
(2) Dorris Hoffleit & Carlos Jaschek (1991) "The Bright Star Catalogue" (5th edition; Yale University Observatory, New Haven, CT, USA) ["Hassaleh"]
(3) Michael E. Bakick (1995) "The Cambridge Guide to the Constellations" (Cambridge University Press, New York) ["Hasseleh"]
(4) P. Moore (2006) "The Amateur Astronomer" (12th edition, Springer) ["Hassaleh"]
(5) Paul Kunitzsch & Tim Smart (2006) "A Short Guide to 254 Star Names and Their Derivations" (2nd Revised Edition, Sky Publishing, Cambridge MA, USA) ["Hassaleh"]
(6) Fred Schaaf (2008) "The Brightest Stars: Discovering the Universe Through the Sky's Most Brilliant Stars" (Wiley-VCH Verlag, Wenheim, Germany) ["Hassaleh"]
Kunitzsch & Smart (2006) were unable to ascertain the origin of "Hassaleh" in Becvar's atlases. Allen (1899; "Star-names and their meanings") lists only two ancient Arabic names (Al Ka'b dhi'l 'Inan from Al Tizini, and Al Tawabi' al 'Ayyuk from Kazwini), but neither of these names or any transliterations of them ever came into common use.
