Coordinates of SMC X-2 are incorrect, or at least, based on an outdated ASCA position. SMC X-2 is identified with the optical source, 2MASS J00543343-7341012 (Link (http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/sim-id?Ident=2MASS+J00543343-7341012&NbIdent=1&Radius=2&Radius.unit=arcmin&submit=submit+id)) which is almost 30'' away from SMC X-2. The most recent and accurate X-ray position for SMC X-2 confirms this association (Kennea et al., 2015 (http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=8091) - note that we have also determined that this object has the same period as SMC X-2, i.e. it is definitively identified).
