The current SIMBAD position of RX J1613.9-3913 does not refer to any optical/IR source. A look at the finder chart of Krautter et al. (1997) - and comparison to a red plate scan from Skyview - indicates that RX J1613.9-3913's optical counterpart is the faint star near (J2000) 16:13:57.8 -39:13:46 (+-1"). This star has catalog counterparts SPM4 3631114182 = UCAC4 254-086565 = 2MASS J16135783-3913448 = allWISE J161357.82-391344.8. An adequate position is UCAC4's: (J2000) 243.4909836, -39.2290989. Remarkably, the visual counterpart is situated 51" away from the X-ray position in Krautter et al. (1997).
