The star identity of NSV 371 in SIMBAD is incorrect. NSV 371 is identified correctly in GCVS as GSC 2799-01524 at 01 01 48.7 +37 55 34. The star is (as noted by GCVS) the "comp *n for WZ And" (Martynov, 1938). NSV 371 is constant (my photometry/other on-line data). Current inaccurate SIMBAD ident for NSV 371 is GSC 2799-00974 at 01 02 03.4 +37 54 13.1. Coincidently, this star is newly discovered variable (see AAVSO VSX dbase) VSX J010203.4+375413 but this is NOT NSV 371, but a new variable a few arc-minutes south-east. Why SIMBAD misidentifies NSV 371 could not be traced. Rick <rickhuziak@shaw.ca>
