Thanks for the corrections.
The problem with Vizier came when I used the target name
resolved by Simbad to find data for BD+42 3333.
Thus, the mistake was only in Simbad. Now the data are
properly selected also with Vizier.
In the paper of Castelaz and Persinger (1989,AJ 98, 1768)
GAT 792 is coincident with the RA and DEC at J1950 of
2MASSJ19255257+4241550 (within 15") and
the magnitudes are fully compatible with this stars.
However, I discovered another conflicting definition of
GAT 792 in a subsequent paper of Castelaz et al. (1991,
AJ 102, 2103).
In the latter paper the star coordinates are given at J2000
and GAT792 is identified with BD+42 3333 with its correct
coordinates and magnitudes (V=9.88, U-B=0.92, B-V=1.02,
V-R=0.82, R-I=0.51).
Thus, what is the true GAT 792?
One should check if this star had been previously defined
and cross-identified in another paper of Gatewood and
coworkers (GAT).
Anyway, I did not find such a paper.
Best regards,
Antonio Frasca
