The coords given for this object are in error.
The original finder chart confirms that the object
is actually X Pyx !

Dear Mr. Morel,
I have access to this Bamberg publication and I have studied this suspected variable before.
The 1900 coordinates given in the publication are 09h11m04s and -29d15.1m. This is in agreement with the former NSV 4432 that is no longer available on the GCVS site. This is propably because the identification chart for BV 1228 in this publication clearly identifies X Pyx.
So the 1900 coordinates for BV 1228 are propably a typing mistake (from 09h12m04s and -29d11.5m which would be the 1900 position for X Pyx) and therefore NSV 4432 does not really exist.
So this new nova is not related to NSV4432/BV1228 I would say.
If you want I can send you scans of this Bamberg publication.

Subject: [AAVSO-DIS] Position of NSV 4432
The newly discovered dwarf nova in Pyxis has a well determined position, at (2000) 09h18m58.50s -29o42'37"
There is a nearby NSV star at (2000) 9h15m21s -29o40'01". Range 11.9 -(13.3p.
Peter Williams has raised the possibility of the two stars being the same. The apparent ranges are similar, but the positions are discrepant. There is a published finder chart for NSV 4432 = BV 1228, in Bamb. Ver 8, No 84, 1969 (H. Bauernfeind).
Could anyone with access to this bulletin kindly check the position of BV 1228, and confirm or deny that it is the newly discovered dwarf nova?
