The current SIMBAD position for NGC 1883 (J2000 05:25.9 +46:33) appears to be significantly displaced (by ~4') from the center of the cluster visible on the Digitized Sky Survey. The position for NGC 1883 in the
Dias et al. open cluster catalog
(J2000 05:25:54 +46:29:24) corresponds well to the centroid of the cluster on the DSS. Both Carraro et al. (2003) and Tadross (2005) list cluster positions of (J2000) 05:25:54 +46:29:00), similar to the Dias et al. position. I recommend updating the SIMBAD position for NGC 1883 to the Dias et al. position (J2000 05:25:54 +46:29:24).
