The spectral type shown for this star (A0) is incorrect. The star is DO 2089, which is given type K5
in the Dearborn catalogue (1947AnDea...5....1L), and which
is consistent with various photometric colors. The A0 type
comes from the relevant Yale zone catalogue
(
1950TOYal..21.....B
), where the type was determined by
Vyssotsky. His type probably refers to nearby
BD-01 1640
=
AG-01 982, about 2'.5 SW. Vyssotsky shows this star as
type B8 in a later publication (1958PMcCO..13b....V).
The companion to BD-01 1642, called
CCDM J07178-0151B
in SIMBAD, is much fainter than advertised (V ~13, not
10.9), so was too faint to be the star observed in the
objective-prism surveys.
A less likely possibility is that the A0 type applies
to BD-01 1645 = TYC 4820-840-1, a similarly-bright blue
star nearly 5' SE.
