A faint low-mass dwarf companion was discovered at 1".11 separation to Alcor independently by Mamajek, Kenworthy, Hinz, & Meyer (2010; http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2010AJ....139..919M ) and Zimmerman et al. (2010; http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2010ApJ...709..733Z ). The Alcor binary and Mizar quadruple appear to constitute the 2nd nearest known stellar sextuplet (after Castor).
