The SIMBAD spectral type for this object appears to be wrong because LHS 3192 is mistakenly identified with GJ 871B in Gizis (1997AJ....113..806G); the M3.5 spectral type should be for LHS 3192. Hawley, Gizis, & Reid (1996AJ....112.2799H) list spectral type as M0.5 for GJ 871B. Also, Fuhrmann et al. (2017ApJ...836..139F)identified GJ 871B as an SB2 pair in a high-resolution spectrum obtained on 2015-12-27.
