BD-06 4216B (HIP 75807): van Leeuwen (2007) lists parallax 68.69+-21.75 mas suggestive that the star may be nearby and potentially within 15 pc.
Common proper motion with BD-06 4216 (HIP 75805; 21" away) appears to be supported by proper motions in original Hipparcos catalog (ESA 1997), UCAC5, URAT1.
Companion BD-06 4216 (HIP 75805) is a K0III (Houk 1999; B-V = 1.08, V = 8.59; ESA 1997; plx = 2.89+-0.22 mas; Gaia DR1; leads to absolute magnitude Mv ~ 0.9 mag).
BD-06 4216B (HIP 75807) colors (V=11.509+-0.021, B-V=0.54+-0.05, APASS; V-Ks=1.34, J-H=0.20, H-Ks=0.052; 2MASS). If the star were really at the distance suggested by the van Leeuwen parallax, its absolute magnitude would be Mv ~ 10.7, i.e. similar to that of a M2.5 dwarf. The RAVE survey (2017AJ....153...75K) lists three Teff estimates of 6750K, 6722K & 6656K (two spectroscopic, one from IRFM), consistent with that expected for a ~F3 dwarf. The colors would be consistent with modest reddening (E(V-Ks) ~ 0.4).
Hence, there is no supporting evidence to suggest that BD-06 4216B could be a nearby star within 15 pc (as hinted at by its van Leeuwen 2007 parallax). Instead, it appears to be a distant modestly reddened early F-type dwarf companion to a K giant at d ~ 340 pc (2016ApJ...833..119A).
