GJ 896 D: Despite its GJ designation this is NOT a nearby star, but a background interloper that appears to be unrelated to the nearby pair GJ 896 AB.
The UCAC5 proper motion (pmRA, pmDec = 2.4+-1.3, 2.0+-1.3 mas/yr) shows it to be a distant background object, and this is also apparent in the mismatch of proper motions quoted in the WDS entry "23317+1956" (LMP 24 AD).
The default parallax from
2001AJ....121.2189O
used by SIMBAD, which ties it to the physical pair GJ 896, is spurious and should be removed.
