In the Yale Parallax Catalog, Plx 4237 and Plx 4238 are identified with CpD-58 7399 and CpD-58 7400, respectively. Each YPC entry lists a single parallax originally published by J. Jackson at the Cape Observatory (1952AnCap..15....1J). I checked, and the listed Yale parallaxes match the relative parallaxes in that source. Allowing for proper motion, the two stars have similar relative positions in the CpD catalog, the YPC, and Jackson (1952), so there doesn't appear to be any confusion between the two stars among those sources.
SIMBAD's note about the misidentification in CNS3 is correct... all the other data for GJ 714 matches that for CpD-58 7400. It looks like Plx 4237 is the only identifier that needs to be reassigned to CpD-58 7399.
