Delta Tauri (61 Tau, HR 1373) is known by the proper name "Secunda Hyadum" (or variants):
(1) Anders Sorensen Vedel (1579) "Historia ecclesiastica tempore Caroli M. usque ad Henricum IV. in Ecclesia Bremsi" ["Secunda Hyadum"].
(2) R. Flud, J.T. de Bry, M. Merian (1617) "Utriusque cosmi maioris scilicet et minoris metaphysica, physica atqve technica historia" ["Secunda Hyadum"].
(3) F. Levera, J. M. Fonseca de Evora (1664) "Francisci Leuerae Romani De inerrantium stellarum viribus, & excellentia secundum quatuor positus earum insignes, relatiuos ad polos Zodiaci; ad polos mundi; ad aequinoctialem; & ad horizontes" ["Secunda Hyadum"].
(4) Joseph Piazzi (1814) "Praecipuarum Stellarum Inerrantium Positiones Mediae Ineunte Saeculo XIX. Ex Observationibus Habitis In Specula Panormitana Ab anno 1792 ad annum 1813" ["Hyadum Secundus"]
(5) Hannah M. Bouvier (1857) "Bouvier's Familiar Astronomy: Or, An Introduction to the Study of the Heavens" (Childs & Peterson, Philadelphia) ["Hyadum Secundus"]
(6) Richard Hinckley Allen (1899) "Star-names and their meanings" (G.E. Stechert, New York) ["Hyadum II"].
(7) Jack W. Rhoads (1971) "Technical Memorandum 33-507: A Reduced Star Catalog Containing 537 Named Stars", Jet Propulsion Laboratory California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA ["Hyadum II"]
(8) Dorris Hoffleit & Carlos Jaschek (1991) "The Bright Star Catalogue" (5th edition; Yale University Observatory, New Haven, CT, USA) ["Hyadum II"]
(9) Michael E. Bakich (1995) "The Cambridge Guide to the Constellations" (Cambridge University Press, New York) ["Hyadem II"]
(10) E. Anderson E. & C. Francis (2012, Astron. Letters, 38, 331) "XHIP: An Extended Hipparcos Compilation" (2012AstL...38..331A) ["Hyadum II"].
The name does not appear in either the 1515 or 1527 Latin printings of the Almagest, but starts appearing in star catalogs by the late 16th century. "Hyadum II" signifies "second of the Hyades", and the Hyades are feminine plural, therefore the Latin form "Secunda Hyadum" is more correct than "Hyadum Secundus".
