Nu Dra (the pair nu01 Dra/HR6554 + nu02 Dra/HR6555), is known by the proper name "Kuma" in several astronomical references.
(1) Antonin Becvar (1964) "Atlas of the Heavens - II: Catalogue 1950.0", Praha: Publication House of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and Cambridge, Mass.: Sky Publishing Corporation, 1964, 4th enl. edition, edited by Mohr, Josef M. (scient. ed.) ["Kuma" originally attributed to "nu Dra" with designation GC 23797, which is HR 6554 = nu01 Dra].
(2) D. Hoffleit & W.H. Warren, Jr. (1991) "The Bright Star Catalog, 5th Revised Edition (Preliminary Version)" ["Kuma" attributed to HR 6555 = nu02 Dra].
(3) Michael E. Bakick (1995) "The Cambridge Guide to the Constellations" (Cambridge University Press, New York) ["Kuma" attributed to "nu Dra", i.e. the pair nu01 + nu02 Dra].
(4) Kostjuk (2002) "HD-DM-GC-HR-HIP-Bayer-Flamsteed Cross Index" http://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/viz-bin/Cat?IV/27A ["Kuma" for nu01 Dra].
(5) Paul Kunitzsch & Tim Smart (2006) "A Short Guide to 254 Star Names and Their Derivations" (2nd Revised Edition, Sky Publishing, Cambridge MA, USA) ["Kuma" attributed to "nu Dra", i.e. the pair nu01 + nu02 Dra].
(6) E. Anderson E. & C. Francis (2012) "XHIP: An Extended Hipparcos Compilation" [name "Kuma" applied to both nu01 & nu02 Dra].
Kunitzsch & Smart (2006) attribute the origin of the star to Becvar, as they are unable to find any previous mention of the name in the pre-mid-20th century literature. Becvar explicitly tabulates the name with the star GC 23797 (which is HR 6554 = nu02 Dra), however the Bright Star Catalog (Hoffleit & Warren 1991) lists the star with the companion HR 6555 (nu01 Dra). nu01 Dra and nu02 Dra have almost identical visual brightnesses (within 0.01 mag in V!). If Becvar is the original source of the name, then nu02 Dra is the correct star, but given the confusion it may be best to append the name to the SIMBAD entry "nu Dra" for the pair.
