SIMBAD currently lists "Hadir" as a proper name for Sigma Puppis, however this name does not appear in any relevant historical references (e.g. Leybourne's (1702) "Introduction to Astronomy...", Baily's (1843) version of Ulegh Beg's (1437) catalog, Smyth's "A Cycle of Celestial Objects" (1881), Allen's "Star Names and Their Meanings" (1899, 1963), Allen's "Astrophysical Quantities" (1963), Becvar's "Atlas of the Heavens II: Catalogue 1950.0" (1964), "Burnham's Celestial Handbook: An Observer's Guide" (1978), Bright Star Catalog 5th edition (Hoffleit & Warren 1991), Kunitzsch & Smart's "Dictionary of Modern Star Names" (2006), among others).
There is a star named "Hadar" which is widely quoted as another name for Beta Centauri (with "Agena"; e.g. Allen 1963, Burnham 1978, Kunitzsch & Smart 2006), however there is no indication of "Hadar" being ascribed to Sigma Puppis (formerly Argo Navis) either.
In the absence of any classic reference of the name "Hadir" to Sigma Puppis (formerly Sigma Argo Navis), the cross-identification appears to be spurious.
