I think the characterization 'Emission line star' isn't correct for CoKu Tau/4. It was identified by
Cohen and Kuhi
as a young star by the nearby nebulosity, not it's strong emission lines. It has notably weak Halpha emission, perhaps 2-3 Angstrom EW, signifying a very low mass accretion rate.
I think 'variable star of Orion type' is a more accurate designation. It is young, harbors a massive disk, and is variable.
Also, as of 2008, Ireland et al. found a binary companion, 8 AU projected distance away, only slightly dimmer than the primary.
