SIMBAD offers 2 separate entries for AC Cas (M1) and CGCS 163 (R-N) while the
same object is pointed (coordinates are much the same). Le Bertre (2012, priv.
comm.) of LB+ (2005) kindly provides me with an IRTS/NIRS 1.4-4 mic. spectrum.
Although noisy, it clearly shows CN at 1.4, C2 at 1.8 and HCN+C2H2 at 3.1 mic..
The identification chart of Hoffmeister (1928, Sonn. Mitt. N16; South up, West
is left)) and relative position to BD+71°50 (1929, Astr. Nachr. 243, 23) do
confirm the position. The M1-class. comes from Deaborn (Lee+ 1947).
Could it be the reverse case of CGCS 139 (an early-M star presumably
misclassified as a carbon-rich one; see annotations in SIMBAD) ?
