ER Eri actually is not a flare star but a RS CVn variable. Recently we verified that the flare communicated in our publication AJ103,549 (1992) results from a very unusual reduction problem (the program, for unknown reason, used a positive declination for the star). This means that the line 261 of the table of the paper A&AS128,561 (1998) must be deleted. But a small photometric variation still remains.
This star is a K1IIIe SB2 RS CVn variable.
