A note on the estimated distance of this star: Simbad lists the spectrophotometric parallax of 156 mas from Oppenheimer et al. (2001), which apparently was obtained from the pCNS3. More recent estimates place this star beyond 25 parsecs. Reid et al. (1995, AJ, 110, 1838) give a spectroscopic distance of 32.3 pc with an uncertainty of 29%, and Weis (1999, AJ, 117, 3021) finds a photometric parallax of 38 mas. The ARICNS web site lists the Weis V magnitude and a spectrophotometric parallax of 37.6 +/- 11.2 mas. The Weis/ARICNS distance estimates yield an absolute V magnitude of 10.4, more appropriate for a star with the M1.5 spectral type from Reid et al. (1995).
